Stunningly Sweet & Playful
Congratulations Esther and Jimmy! We loved helping to celebrate this beautiful couple, while they shared stunning vows on our outdoor covered patio with stunning garden views, and throughout the reception surrounded by the kiwi vines and twinkling sun. The day was perfection: Pink, white, and yellow roses for a bubbly and fun ambiance, a cupcake tier, drinks, laughs, dancing, and love. The couple offered their guests a 3 course dinner with mains of Wild Sockeye Salmon and a Striploin New York steak. We were so lucky to help make this wedding the most memorable event for the bride and groom and their friends and family.
A Royal Wedding
Congratulations Pratima and Paul! Last year we celebrated the vows of a lovely couple with their closest friends and family. The theme was fit for royalty, purple and white hues coloured the room. The couple chose a 3 course meal finishing off with an untraditional yet yummy strudel for dessert, as well as a cupcake tower for their guests to devour. The head table was just for the two of them, adding to the romanticism of the evening. This was an all day affair, allowing the daytime light to shine into our large windows as the speeches brought the event into the night. Of course, dancing ensued with the princess and prince taking their first dance.

An Intimate Wildflower Wedding
Congratulations Tyler and Hayley! It was so special to not only host their reception, but to also have this lovely couple say “I do” on our gorgeous garden oasis patio. It was a smaller, intimate crowd, one that enjoyed laughs and wine under the twinkling filament bulbs on the outdoor covered deck. Some very special moments were captured during the speeches, where kiwi vines wrapped and entertained outside the windows, becoming the perfect backdrop to every photo captured. The simple, rustic, and elegant decor matched perfectly to the garden elements, allowing the bride and groom to shine all evening long (and as they should). We hope you are as inspired by this beautiful wedding as we are.

Congratulations Adreanna and Malcolm! The marvellous couple said “I do” in VanDusen Gardens but their reception took place on our newly renovated deck, as well as inside the garden restaurant. While the couple took their wedding photos throughout the gorgeous backdrops of the garden, the guests enjoyed beverages in the shade on the patio during this hot summer evening. Dinner followed, with speeches, laughs, and a 3 course dinner. Instead of cake, the couple opted for our decadent chocolate pistachio mousse which is always an option we like to offer for weddings. The decor was minimal, tasteful, and vintage modern with white peonies in matted mason jars. And with that, the night finished off into the wee hours of the night, with the couple and their lovely guests dancing under the stars.
A Beautifully Rustic Wedding
Congratulations Corinna and Mike! The couple wed on our 75 seat patio just as the sun was setting. It was a beautiful evening that started with cocktails after the ceremony, dinner to follow, and ending with some ‘get-down’ dancing. The decor was modest but perfected in the small details of sprigs of rosemary and trails of dried leaves. The bundles of flower arrangements on wood vases added a chic element to the rustic theme. It was the perfect evening to enjoy drinks on the patio and an even lovelier evening to share smiles, laughs, tears, and embraces with friends and family of the bride and groom.

A Romantic Midsummers Night Wedding
Congratulations Genelle and Emery! We are so excited to share the romanticism behind their mid-summer wedding, showcasing how to turn Shaughnessy Restaurant into a space where dreams and memories are made. It’s wonderful to see the space transformed: Hanging twig globes, white and green bouquets, babys breath, and dim lighting. All of these elements are uniquely theirs and it makes for the most stunning photo opportunities. Their vows took place later in the day, giving the afternoon sun a chance to glow as they said their ‘I dos’.
Pacific NorthWest Wedding
Congratulations Elena and Keith! We loved how the Pacific NorthWest was highlighted in this magical garden wedding. The early 1900s reclaimed wood beams and simple interior decor accented beautifully among the evergreens of Vandusen Gardens, and the overcast day was comfortable and to be expected for a Westcoast wedding. The setup was unique and accommodating, using round and rectangle tables for dinner service which allowed for a much more connected experience among guests, and with their ceremony out on our covered patio, the guests were able to mingle outside into the night. It was as if the city buzz was very far away, just as it should be.
The Perfect Garden Wedding
Congratulations Cecilia and Ben! This beautiful white, pink, and green themed wedding was all about the small details: mini cupcakes, fresh lavender cocktail stir sticks, gold vases, calligraphy, and table cards, wine cork place cards, and miniature wedding guest parcels on each place setting. The warm weather and sunshine echoed in the room as the bride and groom celebrated amongst their closest relatives and friends. The large windows and floor to ceiling glass doors let the garden become yet another guest during the celebration – the perfect setting to enjoy some glazed chicken drummettes and tasty coconut shrimp before sitting down for a stunning 3 course dinner. From day to night, the evening was complete with hours of dancing under the stars in our atrium.
A Whimsical White Wedding
Congratulations to Kathryn and Steven! This gorgeous couple said their memorable “I dos” on our newly renovated patio and then ate and danced the night away inside the restaurant with their family and friends. The decor was whimsical – white tulips in clear vases, simple postcards and minimalist place settings, delicate script and hand written chalk boards – the best way to describe it: Simple modern elegance.
